What is happening locally in Moray?
The Moray Community Plan has been subdivided into 7 key themes. Multi-agency partnerships are already in place to address issues within each of these themes.

A structure diagram of the Partnership is also available.

Area Forums have been set up in each of the 8 secondary school catchments across Moray. Forums bring together representatives from local community organisations and have local residents to tackle issues, which have been identified through local consultation.

The Forums are supported by Local Workers Groups, comprising local officers of partner organisations. It is anticipated that small action groups of officers and Forum members will be set up to address specific issues. Support Workers have been appointed to look after the smooth operation of the Forums.

What information is there nationally about Community Planning?
Community planning is one of the key policy initiatives of the Scottish Executive and it is very keen on developing further.

There are various sources of information on community planning on a national level.

Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA)
Community Planning Network
Scottish Executive
Scottish Parliament

Is something similar happening in other parts of Scotland and the UK?
Yes!
All local authority areas in Scotland have devised their own Community plans. In England and Wales, "Community Planning Partnerships" are known as "Local Strategic Partnerships" and perform similar activities.
