Making Our New Citizens Feel Welcome

Over the last few years Moray has seen a considerable influx in the number of foreign workers coming to our area.  Starting a new job is daunting at the best of times, but coupled with moving to a new country and trying to cope with a different language and culture, presents a formidable challenge.

In an effort to make these new citizens feel welcome and be better informed about the services available in our area, a series of Welcome Packs has been produced.  Packs have so far been produced in Polish, Russian and Portuguese.  Each pack was put together by a national of each country, now living in our area.  English classes have also been organised to encourage the workers and their families to integrate more easily into the community.

An information guide has also been produced for the many members of the Chinese community now living in various parts of Moray
