Making a Difference Achieving a Healthy and Caring Community Hungry for Success at Knockando Primary Promoting a healthy diet has long been recognised as one of the key factors in improving health and well-being of the population. In September youngsters at Knockando Primary organised a healthy eating day to let their parents know more about the 'Hungry for Success' campaign and the work they had been doing in school to improve diets. A series of workshops and presentations was delivered to Primary 6 and 7 pupils by NHS Grampian's health improvement staff. These looked at the balance of good health and provided lots of ideas about healthier snacks and packed lunches. To add to the fun, the youngsters were given free recipes, quizzes and prize draw were given free school meals for a week. The following week a 'Hungry for Success' afternoon was held for pupils and parents. Everyone left with a much better understanding of key healthy eating messages.
