Making a Difference Involving the Community Promoting a Safer Buckie The Buckie Forum has spent a considerable amount of time over the past year addressing issues of community safety raised by local people. In order to gain a better grasp of the Anti Social Behaviour (Scotland) Act 2004, Forum members began by inviting the local Community Beat Officer and Community Warden to enlighten them on the key points. Members then paid a joint visit to the CCTV Control Room in Elgin with members of Buckie Community Council. They were able to see at first hand the coverage and details, which the cameras were able to pick up, and find out about future upgrades of the facility. The most recent initiative has been undertaken in conjunction with the Community Beat Officer and Community Warden in putting together a See It, Report It campaign poster and flyer to encourage more local people to report incidents of crime to the police. The poster and flyer have been widely distributed throughout the town and surrounding area.
